Welcome to Antica Roma

“ A few weeks ago, we happened to have dinner at Antica Roma by chance. It was very late and quite warm, so we were happy to have free outdoor seating. We chose tagliolini with fresh truffles, and we were both very impressed. We're currently testing truffle pasta wherever it's available, and surprisingly, we weren't disappointed at all! One downside, though, is the seating. It's an outdoor area with a variable awning and side walls. It's great in and of itself, but everything is completely unloved, and the tablecloths were terribly sticky (probably the plasticizer in the plastic; even wiping them down didn't help). This could definitely be improved; please make some effort! A few large green plants, attractive table setting, some nicer decorations, and the side walls could also be spruced up a bit. There's a complete lack of ambiance here, and that's what you want when you go to a restaurant. We can't comment on the interior of the first floor because we didn't go there, not even to the restroom. But we will definitely be back! ”

“ A small restaurant with a great atmosphere and excellent food. They even offer gluten-free options. Wait times can sometimes be a bit longer. ”

“ A very good Italian restaurant, after various restructurings on the ground floor (Italian delicatessen -> bistro -> part of the restaurant -> vacant (as of June 2018)), now only on the first floor (old building without elevator) or outside (unfortunately with a "backyard atmosphere"). Everything is almost perfect – food, service, and space, but only almost... Besides the steep stairs to the restaurant (and the restrooms), the service deserves the most criticism. In fact, one of the two chefs (? - the one with the "high forehead") often seems dismissive to individual guests (guests who are alone) (even before they order), along the lines of: "He takes up an entire table by himself and doesn't generate enough revenue for me." A very positive aspect is that almost all dishes are also available in small portions. ”

“ I was there for the first time today at lunchtime and was thrilled. I was served a very tasty pizza, thankfully not overloaded with toppings. The quality of the dough was also very impressive. The biggest highlight was that they offered gluten-free pizza and pasta, and my girlfriend was able to enjoy pizza again after 10 years due to her gluten intolerance. The gluten-free pizza base was very palatable, well-prepared, and made with care. Keep it up, guys! My only criticism is that such a fantastic pizza is offered at such a low price. But the customer got lucky there :) ”

The restaurant is on the first floor and is only accessible by stairs, which wasn't a problem for me, but it's something to be aware of if you have trouble climbing stairs. I think the restaurant's location is excellent, practically right in the city center and just a few meters from a parking garage. ”
